Good afternoon Bobcat families!
I can't believe our Fall Break is already coming to a close. It has been a wonderful week filled with family time in the great outdoors. We ventured to the dog park, hiked and explored nature all around us. I absolutely love this time of year and we couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather.
I am so proud of our sixth grade students. They had an amazing time up in Estes Park. Covenant Heights is one of our favorite Outdoor Education Centers and we can always count on an amazing learning adventure! I also want to shout out to Mrs. Dietz, Mrs. Sires and Mr. Forbes. These amazing teachers spend countless hours preparing for this trip and three days hands on to ensure all students are having a wonderful time and are safe.
Before Fall Break our wonderful staff discussed H in HEART, H- Journey of a healthy school, body and mind. We talked about what this means to us as a staff, our students and our community. We discussed empathy, what it is and why it is important. The following video was dreamed up, scripted, and acted out by some of my amazing 8th grade students from Kalispell Middle School. The vision was to create a thought provoking short film that instills a challenge to the viewer to look at their own life, their own relationships, and their own sphere of influence, and see where a little empathy could help change the world around them.
As we watched this video we realized we need empathy as a staff to collaborate successfully, solve problems, drive change, align interests, make good decisions, lead effectively AND the H in HEART starts with us. We are excited to focus on, H- Journey of a healthy school, body and mind within our LES Community. We are hopeful this work will empower our community to join in on our journey.
I am super excited to see all my students and teachers on Monday. I am hopeful everyone had a wonderful break and are ready to enjoy our learning time together.
