I scream, you scream

We all scream for ice Cream!! Thank you to everyone who attended Cold Stone to support LES! We are truly blessed!

I am super excited to announce that LES will have a preschool for the 2017-2018 school year! Champions, our before and after school program will offer the following options:

5 day (M-F) 9-12p Part time- $100/wk

5 day (M-F) 9-3p Full time- $145/wk

 3 days a week 9-3p Full time -$100/wk

We are hoping that this will meet the needs of those of you who asked for a 3 day option. You can enroll at www.discoverchampions.com. Enrollment is now open. All children must be fully potty trained, no diapers or pull-ups.

This time of year is bitter sweet. All year we have worked as a team to do what we love most, educate your children. That is why it is so hard to say goodbye to some of our family members who have decided to move on to a new chapter in their lives. We want to say goodbye to our beloved Ms. Van. Ms. Van has spent two years serving the LES community as our music teacher. She came to us fresh out of college and I am so proud of the hard work she has put in the past two years and we will truly miss her beautiful smile and voice. Good luck Ms. Van!

Now it's time to say goodbye to Mrs. Prior. Mrs. Prior came to us from Sedalia Elementary and has served as our art teacher this year. Students have been busy making pottery, weaving, drawing, shading, painting and using their creativity in the arts. We thank you for your dedication to our little school this year and wish you luck as you embark on your journey at CRMS.

So.. Who will replace these two talented ladies you ask? We have hired Julia Singleton as our integrated arts teacher. Not only is Julia a parent at LES she is a talented teacher with 20 years of experience.  Julia has many years of experience from which she is found incorporating French and Spanish into a variety of other specials class and into core classes as well. At LES she will be creating  deep cross curricular experiences for the students that incorporate art, music and foreign language. Teaching with passion and enthusiasm is one of her biggest strengths and she creates lessons that allow students to be creative, communicate, critically think and collaborate not only with each other but with her as their guide. We are excited for her to join the specials team with Scott Forbes and Carol Katona.

Unfortunately,  Julia will not be taking over choir. If you know of a community member interested in running our choir club, please have them contact me.
