Did you know at Larkspur Elementary we have HEART?
What is heart you ask?
"Developing Stewardship of Ourselves, our Community, and our Environment."
Healthy Living- Journey of a Healthy School, Mind, and Body
Environment- Journey of the Schoolyard Habitat, Water, Waste, Energy and Climate
Academics- Journey of Academic Rigor
Research- Journey of Researching the Rockies
TRACKS- Journey of Positive Behavior Support
We would like to invite you to join us on our journey of developing the whole child! During the first month of school teachers and staff really focused on TRACKS. We really want students to be truthful, respectful, accountable, collaborative, kind and safe. These values are talked about daily with our students. We really want our students to learn how to be good citizens of the LES community, and in every community they are in.
September kicked off the monthly staff challenge. A strong mind and body are so important to all of us. Each month teachers set their own goals on fitness and mindset. To complement our “Superhero” theme for this year, we decided it would be fun to present a different challenge each month to help us all grow stronger individually and as a team! We encouraged everyone to participate and to “buddy up” with co-workers as we journey through the year with each other. We plan to celebrate each other and our successes at the end of each challenge with a “team-building” style event. This month staff is participating in a 30 day arm challenge and walking/incline challenge at the MAC. Our celebration will be held at Epic Adventure Ariel Course at the Philip S. Miller Park in Castle Rock. Want to join us on our journey? Set a personal goal, follow the 30 day arm challenge link above and get your body moving. We would love to see your progress, posted on our FB page!
We need your help!! Field Day is right around the corner and we need volunteers! FIELD DAY --- FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 15th Parents, please sign-up to help volunteer for Larkspur Elementary Field Day. "Moving Toward Independence"
As we enter our second month of school, we understand how important it is for each student to have a great start to their day! We would like to encourage you to allow your students to line up and walk in with their classmates when the 1st bell rings which will empower them to gain their independence and help them grow as little people. If you are a parent who has a preschooler as well as K-6 students, please check in your preschooler through the exterior Champions door while allowing your older kiddos to line up with their classmates.
Should any family need to come in with your child, we ask that you please sign in at the front desk prior to entering our student hallways and sign out when you leave. Our mornings tend to be very busy at LES and we need to keep all of our security procedures in place. We appreciate your participation with us to keep our school safe!
