My heart is full as I reflect on the 2018-2019 school year thus far. Teachers have been working all summer preparing for this year and their love and dedication for our students does not go unnoticed! We are truly blessed to have such an amazing group of talented teachers, staff, community and most of all students! In 1980 I entered the halls of Pine Lane Elementary in Parker as a kindergarten student. I remember that first day of school and those that followed due to the amazing teachers who touched my life. My excitement continues as I am truly lucky to serve as the principal of the best elementary school in DCSD. Our teachers are truly dedicated to the success of each student at LES and I am so excited to work with everyone to ensure a successful year for all.
First day news!
Our first day of school is Thursday August 9th. We are so excited to kick off the 2018-2019 school year with our amazing students!
Please take a moment to read the following from our office staff- HEART Welcome Letter and
IMPORTANT Carpool information:
*AM carpool starts at 8:50. There is only one lane, please pull all the way up to the crosswalk and allow your child(ren) out of the car, curb side. All cars from the front of the school all the way down the side walk must let their child(ren) out of the car in order to keep the line running. Once your child(ren) have exited the car please safely pull forward. The next group of cars will need to pull all the way up and then let kids out along the curb. (This allows for about 5-7 cars to drop of their child(ren) at one time). Please watch the adults on duty for directions and do not allow your child(ren) cross between cars. All students will stand in their grade level lines until the bell rings at 9:00. Students have five minutes to walk to their classroom before the tardy bell rings at 9:05. If you arrive after 9:05, you must come in and sign your child(ren) in.
*Please stop for all yellow buses. These are carrying several of our amazing children and have the right away. When you see a big yellow bus, it is your responsibility to stop and allow enough room for them to enter/exit Larkspur's driveway and bus loop. Please do not park in the bus loop at anytime.
*PM carpool stats are 4:00. There are two lanes, pull all the way up to the crosswalk. Please display your name tag on your car window so teachers can call your child(ren) to your vehicle. If you do not display your name our line will not run as quickly as it could. Teachers will fill four to six cars and wave the first group of cars along after all children are safely in their cars. PLEASE do not move forward until staff has indicated it is safe to do so.
**If you are not at Larkspur Elementary by 4:20, your child(ren) will be safely waiting for you at our before and after childcare program, Champions. **
