K-6 STUDENT ROSTER VERIFICATION DAYS
We would like to make you aware of a very important date coming up. On September 25, 2018, the Colorado Department of Education will take a snapshot of our Pupil Count. The Pupil Count is what determines the amount of funding that our school receives from the state, essentially the funding to run our school. It is very important to our school, and our students, to have all of our students in attendance on this important day. We know illness or other unforeseen circumstances arise, but we ask that outside of those circumstances that your student please be in attendance on September 25, 2018. Thank you so much for your assistance in helping our school receive the maximum amount of funding.
Dear Parent (s),
On Friday, September 14, 2018, the students in Kindergarten through 6th grade will be participating in Larkspur’s annual Field Day. This year we will have our normal field day events in the morning and in the afternoon will be a 1K run (Blazing the Trail – Running Club) with an obstacle course after the start of the run. All Larkspur Elementary students will be participating in the afternoon in 30-minute sessions. The emphasis of Field Day will be on group participation, cooperation, teamwork and having fun. All students will receive a participation certificate. Please have your child wear appropriate clothes, which include: a hat, sunscreen, socks, and especially gym shoes. If Field Day is canceled due to rain, it will be rescheduled for Friday, September 28, 2018.
Since you, the parent volunteer, make our school such a huge success, I am asking for your help with Field Day and our 1K Run / Obstacle Course. If you are available on September 14th, please return the tear-off portion of this letter to your child’s homeroom teacher by Wednesday, September 12th. If you have any questions, please call my voice mail at 303-387-5393 and I will return your call promptly. Make your plans now to take the day off to come and play with your child at Larkspur’s Field Day and 1K Run / Obstacle Course.
Remember, in the afternoon, we will be having a 1K Run (you are welcome to run with your child) – Obstacle Course for each grade level from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm. We will finish our day with the entire school on the soccer field with popsicles. Looking forward to seeing you on field day Friday, September 14th.
For over seven years Larkspur students and community have graciously given back to LES. It is that time again to come together as a community to continue the tradition of servicing our campus. Wednesday September 12th, we will be holding our first SAC meeting. What is SAC you ask? The SAC is an advisory committee, not a governing body, that advises the principal on school performance, budget priorities and parental engagement. The purpose of the committee is to inform, encourage and provide opportunities for parents and community members to be involved in the planning and evaluation of the school’s instructional program and quality improvement processes. Each SAC is comprised of parents, community members, principals and teachers. Please click here to learn more about SAC.
PTO General Meetings for 2018/19 will be held in the LES library at 4:30 pm. Childcare is provided in the gym. Please plan to attend and see what we’re up to! Hope to see you there!
