Happy MLK Junior Day!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Born and raised in Colorado, I have always loved our Colorado weather. One day it can be 60 degrees and the next, snow and low 30's. Please make sure your children are prepared for the cold weather. Colorado children love playing in the snow and enjoy recess on these beautiful days. Please make sure they have coats, boots, snow pants, gloves and hats! With that being said, we have a snow storm moving in tonight. Please visit DCSD website for upcoming late starts and closures. DCSD Website

AM carpool starts  8:50. Please do not drop your children off without a staff member out front. This poses a safety concern as a Larkspur employee is not out supervising students. Thank you for your support.

The Larkspur Elementary School PTO is excited to announce the 2019 enrichment schedule! New classes have been added and your kiddos are sure to have a blast!

Are you watching kids scroll through life, with their rapid-fire thumbs and a six-second attention span? Physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston saw that with her own kids and learned that the average kid spends 6.5 hours a day looking at screens. She wondered about the impact of all this time and about the friction occurring in homes and schools around negotiating screen time—friction she knew all too well.

In SCREENAGERS, as with her award-winning documentaries on mental health, Delaney takes a deeply personal approach as she probes into the vulnerable corners of family life, including her own, to explore struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction. Through poignant, and unexpectedly funny stories, along with surprising insights from authors, psychologists, and brain scientists, SCREENAGERS reveals how tech time impacts kids’ development and offers solutions on how adults can
empower kids to best navigate the digital world and find balance. Thursday 1/24 at Castle View High School 6:30-8:30.
