IMPORTANT Carpool information:
*AM carpool starts at 8:50. There is only one lane, please pull all the way up to the crosswalk and allow your child(ren) out of the car, curb side. All cars from the front of the school all the way down the side walk must let their child(ren) out of the car in order to keep the line running. Once your child(ren) have exited the car please safely pull forward. The next group of cars will need to pull all the way up and then let kids out along the curb. (This allows for about 5-7 cars to drop of their child(ren) at one time). Please watch the adults on duty for directions and do not allow your child(ren) cross between cars. All students will stand in their grade level lines until the bell rings at 9:00. Students have five minutes to walk to their classroom before the tardy bell rings at 9:05. If you arrive after 9:05, you must come in and sign your child(ren) in.
*Please stop for all yellow buses. These are carrying several of our amazing children and have the right away. When you see a big yellow bus, it is your responsibility to stop and allow enough room for them to enter/exit Larkspur's driveway and bus loop. Please do not park in the bus loop at anytime.
*PM carpool stats are 4:00. There are two lanes, pull all the way up to the crosswalk. Please display your name tag on your car window so teachers can call your child(ren) to your vehicle. If you do not display your name our line will not run as quickly as it could. Teachers will fill four to six cars and wave the first group of cars along after all children are safely in their cars. PLEASE do not move forward until staff has indicated it is safe to do so.
**If you are not at Larkspur Elementary by 4:30, your child(ren) will be safely waiting for you at our before and after childcare program, Champions. **
Encouraging regular school attendance is one of the most powerful ways you can prepare your child for success—both in school and in life. When you make school attendance a priority, you help your child get better grades, develop healthy life habits, avoid dangerous behavior and have a better chance of graduating from high school.
When students are absent for fewer days, their grades and reading skills often improve—even among those students who are struggling in school. Students who attend school regularly also feel more connected to their community, develop important social skills and friendships, and are significantly more likely to graduate from high school, setting them up for a strong future.
But when kids are absent for an average of just two days of school per month—even when the absences are excused– it can have a negative impact. These absences can affect kids as early as Kindergarten.
For example, young elementary school students who miss an average of just two school days per month often have difficulty keeping up with their peers academically and tend to fall behind in reading. But when students are able to read on grade level by the end of third grade, which is when kids transition from learning to read to reading to learn, they are three to four times more likely to graduate high school and attend college, post-graduate, or professional development classes than their peers who struggle with reading. Please make sure your kids attend school on a regular basis. This is their foundation and we want to ensure they have a solid foundation as we send them off to middle school.
Online Express Check-In is OPEN. Click here to login. You will use Online Express Check-In to update your contact information, pay school fees, and sign up for volunteer opportunities. All students must register via Online Express Check-in.
Meet and Greet: We believe that it is essential for students to have the opportunity to meet their teacher and visit their classroom prior to the first day of school. Families are welcome to visit their classroom on Tuesday, August 6th between 2:00 and 4:00. Please bring your supplies with you!
Exciting news! A bus stop has been added in Castle Rock at Crystal Valley Parkway and the east I-25 frontage road. There will no longer be a bus stop at Clear Sky Elementary.
**All students need to have a current Immunization Certificate or a completed Immunization Exemption Form in order to attend school on August 7. Please ensure that the office has a current form. Most doctors offices will email or fax vaccination records.
If your student needs medication that will be taken during the school day, please bring a signed doctors order, Provider Medication Authorization Form, along with the medication to the front office. Do not send medication to school with your child. All medications must be delivered to the office by a parent or guardian.
School Supply Donations: We are asking for extra school supplies for families in need. If you have any extra Crayola markers, spiral notebooks, glue sticks and Expo markers, we would greatly appreciate your donation. A donation bin will be located in the school lobby.
